Over my lifetime I have been fortunate enough to travel much of the world and see some amazing things. From the sand dunes of the Arabian peninsula to the waters off Hawaii, I have been amazed at the wonders of our planet.
Unfortunately, we humans have been abusing our planet with horrific results. It is my goal as an author to help support those who are trying to make a difference by directly trying to save our planet. This is not an option. This IS the only home we have.

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society
“Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate.” ~Captain Jack Sparrow
While the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society may not exactly be pirates, they are THE front line in ocean conservancy and wildlife protection. From harassing whalers to ocean clean-up, these brave folks are doing the hard work necessary to save earth’s treasure – the oceans. Check them out here: www.seashepherd.org
Union of Concerned Scientists
“The good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe in it.” ~Neil deGrasse Tyson
Conceived by some big brains at MIT, the UCS’s mission is “to use rigorous, independent science to solve our planet’s most pressing problems. Joining with people across the country, we combine technical analysis and effective advocacy to create innovative, practical solutions for a healthy, safe, and sustainable future.” What could be better? Scientific methodology to guide us into the future. I’m in. Check them out here: www.ucsusa.org

Ocean Conservancy
“Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends, have become global garbage cans.” ~Jacques Yves Cousteau
Fact: approximately 71% of the earth is covered in water. A clean, functioning aquatic ecosystem is essential for the survival of the human race. The Ocean Conservancy’s mission is vast and confronts a myriad of global challenges. From ocean acidification and sustainable fishing to removing garbage and plastics from the water, to developing new protective legislation, the Ocean Conservancy is fighting for our oceans every day. World Central Kitchen
Chef José Andrés founded the World Central Kitchen in 2010 to provide emergency food relief for people following disasters and other crises such as the conflict in Gaza and the war in Ukraine. He and his teams do amazing work around the globe helping people in need. From the United States to War Zones, World Central Kitchen shows up, often under fire, to feed those in need. If ever there was someone deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize, it’s Chef Andrés. Check it out here: http://wck.org

My pledge to you, the reader:
